What is “Smyrna”?
Smyrna was the Amazon queen who is believed to build the city of Izmir. In classical antiquity the city was known as Smyrna – a name which remained in use in English and various other languages until around 1930.
When is the event?
Smyrna Mambo Getaway takes place between 30 September - 04 October 2021.

We invite you to create with us a next level of social dancing. Our uniqueness comes from mesmerizing venue, laid-back atmosphere, and best traits of sun, fun & mambooo. We love marathons & congresses, yet we wish to create something new. Join us and create it with us!
What about the venue?
A real hidden gem - Denizati Holiday Village hotel. You may explore more here, but let us summarize it shortly: forest, sea, beach, 2 swimming pools, 2 outdoors dancefloors, 3 open-buffet meals per day with cold soft drinks. Did we mention the squirrels? :) And btw, alcohol and other beverages are reasonably priced - you’re welcome!
How big is the event?
We love cozy events. 200 participants maximum (100 leaders & 100 followers). This is the capacity of the hotel, so there is a chance we’ll be the one & only guests!
How to get there?
Easy! Izmir airport hosts direct flights from 68 destinations & 35 countries. If not - you’ll have an easy transfer via Istanbul. Once in Izmir - 40 min. bus / shuttle drive (Turkey’s public transport works very well) will take you to Denizati. Register for our shuttle to have it done in the most relaxed way!
How do we protect ourselves from coronavirus?
This is one of the most important aspects for us. Here are the preventive measures that apply: Currently, to enter Turkey you must be either fully vaccinated or present 72h negative PCR test. We will ask you to present relevant evidence during the check-in - this applies also to any local participants.
We plan to have as many outdoor parties as possible (remember - two outdoor dance floors) - the temperature in end September is 25C day / night - sounds promising!
Our hotel has been certified by relevant authorities (Safe Tourism Certification) for hygiene evaluation.
We will encourage self-temperature checks, often hand sanitization. Having said that - we believe in your responsible behaviour. Don’t worry about the availability of PCR tests for your departure - if needed, there are multiple facilities in Izmir (incl. airport) that provide this service at about 30 euro. You can get the results even in 3 hours. We will help to organize it if there is a group request.
How much does it cost?
Pass: 119 euro
Hotel: 60 euro / night / per person. We invite you for min. 3 nights. 3 meals & cold soft drinks included.
